We are a small studio in Bushwick that helps New York businesses get found by the people already standing a few blocks away. Named for the thirteen stripes on the flag — a nod to starting something from scratch and building it stubbornly.
Started because local businesses kept getting sold the wrong thing.
13 Stripes began in 2019 after our founder watched a Bushwick bakery pay $2,800 a month for social media "management" while its Google Business Profile listed the wrong hours and its website took nine seconds to load. The fix cost a fraction of that retainer and doubled walk-ins in a season.
That is still the whole idea. We do three things — SEO, Google Business Profile management, and website development — for businesses across Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island. We keep our client list small enough that the person who audits your account is the person doing the work.
No account managers relaying messages. No dashboards designed to look impressive. Just visibility where your customers are searching, and honest numbers about what it produced.

You will never get a report full of impressions and jargon. We report calls, forms, bookings, and rankings that matter to your block.
Local means local
We work with a limited number of NYC clients and never with two direct competitors in the same neighborhood.

Domains, hosting, analytics, ad accounts, code. If you ever leave, you leave with all of it.
No vanity work
If a tactic will not produce leads for your category, we will not sell it to you just to pad a retainer.
